Adding Region Geometries

Regions can be harder to work with because they are inherently a "Shape" that will be represented as a Polygon or Multipolygon in GIS. You may need to be familiar with the basics of GIS in order to proceed. We recommend asking ChatGPT for help or a similar tool if you get stuck.

Adding geometry to Regions

To add geometry to as Region you have created in Zite, you will first need at least need a GIS shape file with that region in any format.

  • If the format for the Region boundary is not already in WKT format, you will need to convert it to WKT format.

  • Then using the Bulk Upload & Update - Region feature in your Project settings, you then need to export your list of regions.

  • Add the WKT formatted text to the Region template in the geometry field. The text should be inputted on the same row as the region you are adding.

  • Re-upload the file and confirm that the upload was successful.

  • The Region boundary should not be visible in the mapping feature and within Region reports.
