Regions

Regions are a way of organizing and grouping your site. Similar to sites, regions can also be used to assign user permissions, filter reports, and organize your project. Unlike sites, regions are only used as an organization tool and you cannot submit forms or add information to a specific region within Zite. This means that regions are often larger geographic units, such as states, districts, provinces, or administrative units. Regions are not necessary and if you have a few number of sites within a limited area, you may decide not to use them at all.

Region Levels

Regions can be created with up to three levels. For example, the continent Asia, might have a sub-region of South Asia and South-East Asia, and different countries as the third level of regions. You can customize the different levels of region as much as you require or want. Please keep in mind however that if you want to add information to a region they should instead be created as a site.

Creating Regions

All regions have to have two basic pieces of information - an id and name. The id is how the system will refer to the region but this will not appear to generally users who are submitting and reviewing project data. Similar to the Site ID the Region ID should not contain spaces or special characters and must be unique within a given project.
