Your project data, arranged your way

Zite collects a great deal of information for you: every form submission, every site, every task, every review. Dashboards summarize it, but sooner or later you need it as a plain table — a list of every inspection this month, a register of sites with their latest survey answers, a roster of who has been in the field. A data view is that table.

You design a data view once: you decide what each row stands for (a submission, a site, a user…), which fields become columns, what the columns are called and which rows to keep. From then on Zite keeps it filled with live project data. Open it tomorrow and the new submissions are already there; approve a case and its status changes the next time anyone looks.

A data view is useful in three ways:

  • On screen, as a table you and your colleagues read inside Zite.

  • As an Excel file, exported whenever you need a copy.

  • Synced to a Google Sheet or to another system, refreshed on a schedule, so a dashboard or a partner always has current data without anyone exporting anything.

Data views are built by managers (the Manager role, or the narrower Manager: Reports role made for people who build views without running the rest of the project). Anyone else on the project can be given a view to read.
